Stillness

“I knew guys like you. You’ll do any terrifying thing you’re asked to do, but you have to do it running. You think you can outrun your fears, your doubts. The only thing that scares you guys is stillness.”
- Ephraim, Munich
This lines are from the movie 'Munich'. Its a myth that only young and going people suffer this horrifying ripple of unsteadiness in their life. The oldie Goldie are no different. They breath every moment with a hollow feeling hanging around them reminding them of life with no specific purpose. Of course there are exceptions. But well it is supposed to be this way because we are constantly changing. Right from the moment we are conceived till our soul leaves our ever degrading body . Not just every cell in our body die to again take a new birth but even thoughts, ideas, feelings aren't constant in our lives. We are developing positively or degrading our development through our actions. But we are never still. Because stillness doesn't exist.
Stagnation means death. No evolution. Look around; no scenery is same everyday, one cell is multiplying in thousands in less than a minute, we are uncertain of our return when we leave our house for work. There isn't any certainty, there isn't any stillness.
Many would argue that we could "still" our mind and soul through meditation. Really? Could we really control our mind? For all those favoring this argument, what we do is actually distract our mind from thoughts we normally have. This gives us an illusion of divine interconnection with God who resides within us. But even in the process of connecting, we are in a constant attempt of achieving "stillness" through constant efforts.
A dead still pond is just still from outside, but it flourishes thousands small lives beneath it. Through constant making and breaking; we move ahead, we progress, we grow. Even the hard rock couldn't master this art, because this art is only known to the force who created the universe. History often says "The only thing constant is change". So true it is! We could only run forward, right or wrong, because there is no way we could turn back. Nature hasn't made any such thing. If nature bestows stillness it would break the flow, stagnant growth and disrupt the mysteries of time!
This post was actually written by me during my 10th exams. Thought of finally posting it! I need genuine response on this post. Was it a good "philosophical" attempt for a student of a ruthless subject called Economics?
It was sheer beauty, hadnt u mentioned that uve written it during ur 10th exams there is no way to know that such meaningful and deep thoughts are actually from a teenager.
